William Bratcher

William David Bratcher, 55, Milltown, died Tuesday, July 10, in Dubois County after a boating accident.
A native of Ohio County, Ky., born May 5, 1946, he was the son of the late Otis and Dessie D. Payton Bratcher.
He was a retired machinist, a member of Teamsters Union Local 681 in Louisville and the National Rifle Association.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Lummie Lashley, three brothers, Arvin, Raymond and Vernon Bratcher, and a sister, Ruby Haynes.
Survivors include his wife, the former Shelby Oller; two sons, Vernon Lee Bratcher of Milltown and David Wayne Bratcher of Marengo; a daughter, Angela Ferguson of Milltown; two sisters, Dorothy Schmidt and Betty Wilkens, both of Leitchfield, Ky.; and a brother, James Bratcher of Lakeland, Fla.
The funeral was Saturday, July 14, at Dillman-Green Funeral Home in Marengo. The body was cremated. Brother Gerald Nuzum officiated.
