It's nice how Gordon Pendleton says he hates taking money out of the Foundation account.

He sure didn't mind using $8 million of the Foundation money to build the new government office complex. He also didn't mind giving $8 million of it to bail out the hospital.

But when the county spends some of the interest on its Foundation money to balance the books from years of overspending, Pendleton complains.

The county's Foundation account was created for just this purpose, not to be raided for building construction or bailouts.

The alternative is to cut services or raise taxes. I doubt anyone wants that.
