Two weeks ago a news story reported the county couldn't afford proper up keep on it's roads anymore and has to switch to the cheap chip and seal method in order to save money for the county while costing residents additional expense in the repair and maintenance of their vehicles due to the chip damage. Now our commissioners want to build another road that the county won't be able to maintain in the future. Given that S.R. 64 meets I-64 at the Edwardsville exit only a few miles away. This effort does not make economic sense since trucks would still use I-64 to get to Louisville.
