NH's Bosler runs away with small school race at Brown County S.P.

North Harrison harrier Ashton Bosler won her race division Saturday at the 12th annual Eagle Classic at Brown County State Park.

The junior competed in the Class A (small school division) and came away with the top spot, running in 19:19.6. She was four seconds ahead of second-place finisher Hannah Sears of Edgewood. Fellow Lady Cat Karin Blos placed 15th with a race time of 20:36.

The fastest girls’ time of the day went to Columbus North’s Mackenzie Caldwell, who competed in the Class AA race, with a time of 17:40.1.

As a team, North Harrison’s girls placed second with a score of 58, just behind fellow Mid-Southern Conference school Silver Creek (40 points).

Corydon Central also participated in the large meet with Brianna Norris finishing 42nd (22:04).

In the boys’ Class A race, North Harrison’s Daniel Fleace and Curtis Wetzel turned in big performances. Fleace came away with a third-place finish, running in 15:59, while Wetzel was sixth with a time of 16:25.

North Harrison placed ninth as a team with a score of 130 points. Tell City was the top boys’ school with 62 points, while Corydon Central was 15th with 118 points. The third best finisher for North Harrison was Jacob Faith (18:08) in 51st.

Corydon Central’s boys were paced by Jake Pitt, who ran in 17:43 to place 37th. Teammate Dylan Bachman (18:11), a freshman, was 53rd.

In the freshman/sophomore race, North Harrison’s Collier Smith finished 10th with a time of 17:37. Teammate Tyler Hood (18:15) was 26th. Corydon Central’s best runner in the underclassmen race was Maxwell Glordan (21:55) in 102nd.

The fastest boys’ race time of the day went to Bloomington South’s Kyle Burks, running in 15:16.7.
