The Floyd Central Lady Highlanders track team won its fifth straight sectional championship last Tuesday night, bettering county rival New Albany by 21 points. It was a night four sectional records fell to the ground in shattered pieces. "Fred Geswein, he's a track and field legend; he gave the biggest compliment to me today of my track coaching career," Floyd Central coach Kyle Weglieb said. "He labeled our track and field team a program. He said a lot of teams around here in Southern Indiana get kids out and want to do it, but we consider our school a track and field program."...more >>

Panthers dominate, sweep individualsMay 20, 2014Mitchell Frederick was in no rush to get to Corydon Central’s senior prom. He admitted after capturing his third medalist honors at an 18-hole tournament, he’d smile at prom, thinking about his round at the Mid-Southern Conference Meet. Saturday, Frederick had a great start and an even better finish to his round, a 3-under par 68 to snag the honors at Wooded View Golf Course in Clarksville.
...more >> North Harrison takes care of Eastern, 6-3May 20, 2014The North Harrison Lady Cats used a big fourth inning to pull ahead of the visiting Lady Musketeers of Eastern (Pekin) last Tuesday afternoon to earn a 6-3 win in a Mid-Southern Conference softball contest. The win was a little costly for the Lady Cats, however, as Brittany Rudolph suffered a shin injury and had to sit out the remainder of the game. She was expected to return to the field this week.
