Betty J. Archibald

Betty Jane Archibald, 83, Georgetown, died Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Waterford Health Campus in Kokomo.

Born March 17, 1931, in Hazard, Ky., she was the daughter of the late John Little and Annette Drake.

She was a retired elementary school teacher for the Crawford County Community School Corp. and a member of St. Mark’s United Church of Christ in New Albany.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd L. Archibald, and a son, Floyd K. Archibald.

Survivors include a son, David Archibald of Jeffersonville; four daughters, Lisa Schafer of Cincinnati, Joan Archibald Carver of Galveston, Debbie Pirtle of Floyds Knobs and Mona Archibald of Milwaukee; a sister, Katherine Taylor of New Albany; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Sunday, April 27, from noon to 2 p.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown.

Funeral: Sunday, April 27, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Batman Cemetery in Milltown.

The family suggests memorial gifts to the Alzheimer’s Association.
