I agree with the comment that the data is the data. I also think the tracking program is a good idea. Everyone that works for any level of government has to keep in mind that their salary (I also work in a government position) is paid by people's taxes.

Those that do their job and abide by all rules and regulations should not have any concerns. The technology is a good use of funds. I do believe the cost is a little high. $20k a year to maintain the program sounds too expensive. I would shop it around a bit more. The news story didn't mention how many vehicles were included in the program.

I would recommend ALL county vehicles be included...including law enforcement vehicles.
