ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the Harrison County Regional Sewer District, Harrison County, IN for the construction of sanitary sewer lines, forcemain sewers and installation of a sanitary lift station. The project is called the “LANESVILLE I-64 INTERCHANGE SANITARY SEWER PROJECT”. Sealed bids may be delivered or forwarded by certified mail, until 2:00 p.m. local time on the 19th day of August, 2014 at the Auditor’s Office, Harrison County Government Center, 245 Atwood St. NE, Suite 211, Corydon, Indiana 47112. Proposals received after such hour will be returned unopened.
This Project involves the installation of sanitary sewers, forcemain sewers, and a wastewater lift station.
Bids shall be opened and publicly read aloud on the 20th day of August, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. at the Harrison County Regional Sewer District Meeting in the Conference Room of the Harrison County Community Foundation Building at 1523 Foundation Way, Corydon, IN 47112.
The bids shall be unit price for all work shown on the plans and called for in the specifications as detailed in the information for bidders and submitted in duplicate on the State Board of Accounts Form No. 96 (revised 2005).
The bidder must file with their sealed bid proposal, a certified check or a bid bond in the amount equal to five (5) percent of the total bid, payable to the Harrison County Regional Sewer District. The above check or bond is to insure the execution of the contract on which such bid is made.
The qualified Contractor to whom the work is awarded shall furnish, within ten (10) days after the date of said contract award and before commencing work, a performance and payment bond in an amount equal to the bid price of the contract awarded to said contractor, and certificates of all insurance required by the Specifications.
The Bid security of the three lowest Bidders will be retained until the Contract has been awarded and executed, but no longer than sixty (60) days from the date of opening Bids. The Owner reserves the right to reject any proposal, or all proposals, or to accept any proposal or proposals, or to make such combination of proposals as may seem desirable, and to waive any and all informalities in bidding. Any proposal may be withdrawn prior to the above scheduled time for the opening of proposals or authorized postponement thereof. Any proposal received after the time and date specified shall not be considered. No proposal may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for at least sixty (60) days.
A conditional or qualified Bid will not be accepted.
Award will be made to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder.
All applicable laws, ordinances, and the rules and regulations of all authorities having jurisdiction over construction of the project shall apply to the project throughout.

To the taxpayers of the Leavenworth Fire Protection District, Crawford County, State of Indiana.
You are hereby notified that on the 19th day of July, 2014, the Leavenworth Fire Protection District Fire Board of Trustees, Crawford County, State of Indiana, pursuant to notice heretofore given, and under and virtue of IC 6-1.1-41 and IC 36-8-14, duly adopted a plan whereby a Cumulative Firefighting Building and Equipment Fund was established to provide the following:

(A) Purchase, construction, renovation, or addition to buildings; or
(B) Purchase of land;
Used by the volunteer fire department serving the unit.
(2) The purchase of firefighting equipment for use of the volunteer fire department serving the Leavenworth Fire Protection District, Crawford County, Indiana, including making the required payments under a lease rental with option to purchase agreement made to acquire the equipment.
The fund will be provided for by a property tax rate of three and thirty-three hundredths cents ($0.0333) on each one hundred dollars ($100.00) of taxable real and personal property within the taxing unit beginning in 2014 payable 2015, and thereafter, continuing until reduced or rescinded.
Ten (10) or more taxpayers in the taxing unit who will be affected by the tax rate and corresponding levy may file a petition with the Crawford County Auditor, not later than thirty (30) days after the publication of this Notice, setting forth their objections to the proposed rate and levy. Upon the filing of the petition, the County Auditor shall immediately certify the same to the Department of Local Government Finance, at which point the Department will fix a date for and conduct a public hearing on the proposed rate and levy before issuing its approval or disapproval thereof.
