Lanesville will welcome the Indiana High School Rodeo Association to the Lanesville Heritage Grounds on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 18 and 19.
The nonprofit high school youth organization develops and strengthens the sport of rodeo. The stop at Lanesville will draw about 40 competitors from throughout the state, competing in traditional events such as bull riding, calf roping, barrel racing, team roping and others.
On Saturday, Sept. 18, the rodeo will begin at 7 p.m. while action will start the following day at 1 p.m.
The event is sponsored by Lucas Oil and is the first to be held in Harrison County. Lanesville Heritage donated the grounds for the competition.
The event will draw several area competitors, including four from Lanesville Junior-Senior High School: Sarah Schneider, Drue Stewart, Casey Dean and TyDaniel Haller.
Admission will be $3 for a one-day pass or $5 for a two-day pass. Children 4 and younger will be admitted free.
