Weather halts NH/Crawford football

August 27, 2014 | 09:27 AM

Mother Nature prevented the Crawford County Wolfpack and North Harrison Cougars from kicking off the 2014 football season not once, but twice, this past weekend.

After Friday night's game was postponed because of inclement weather, the Cougars returned to Marengo Saturday night only to have more bad weather cancel the match-up.

The game, in a series that North Harrison leads 6-1, will not be rescheduled.

The Battle for Blue paddle wasn't the only game canceled in the area. Springs Valley at Silver Creek was also called off along with Evansville Central at North Oldham (Ky.).

The last canceled game for North Harrison was in 2006, against Brownstown Central.

The Wolfpack will host West Washington on Friday, while the Cougars will host county-rival Corydon Central. Both games will begin at 7 p.m.
