Registration for the YMCA of Harrison County's Fall Youth Soccer program is underway through Sunday, July 27.
The Y's soccer program for youth will provide basic soccer skills taught in an environment that promotes caring, honesty, respect and responsibility, the four core values of the Y. REC soccer and REC PLUS soccer leagues will be created.
REC soccer teams are non-traveling, co-ed teams consisting of U5, U6, U8 and U10 age groups. The cost for YMCA of Harrison County members is $55 per child. The cost for other participants is $70 per child. The fee includes a shirt and a team participating award. Games will be played at the Y in Corydon on Saturdays beginning Aug. 16. Make-up games may be played on weeknights. The U10 league will play in one weekend tournament away from the YMCA of Harrison County.
REC PLUS teams are for youth U12 through U19 and is a travel league that will play against clubs in Southern Indiana and the greater Louisville area. REC PLUS teams may be co-ed, depending on the number of registered players. REC PLUS games may be played on Saturdays and Sundays.
The cost for REC PLUS for YMCA of Harrison County members is $70 per child. For other participants, REC PLUS cost is $85 per child. The fee includes a jersey and Indiana Youth Soccer Association league fees.
To know which league your child would play in, follow this age chart:
•U5 — born between Aug. 1, 2009, and July 31, 2010.
•U6 — born between Aug. 1, 2008, and July 31, 2009.
•U8 — born between Aug. 1, 2006, and July 31, 2007.
•U10 — born between Aug. 1, 2004, and July 31, 2005.
•U12 — born between Aug. 1, 2002, and July 31, 2003.
•U15 — born between Aug. 1, 1999, and July 31, 2000.

Financial assistance is available, with support from donors, for a variety of programs and membership at the YMCA of Harrison County. It is the Y's pledge, within its available resources, to provide services to individuals regardless of ability to pay. Those unable to pay the full fee may apply to receive sliding-scale assistance through the Open Doors program. Open Doors assistance is granted based on personal need, enrollment limitation and the Y's financial resources.
