Putting together consecutive wins for the first time this season, the South Central boys' basketball team scored victories last weekend against New Washington and Evansville Day.
On Friday night, South Central closed the book on the Southern Athletic Conference slate with a 46-36 decision at New Washington.
It was a low-scoring affair through two quarters, but the Rebels (5-15) outpaced the Mustangs 13-7 on the scoreboard in the third to pull out the win.
Nick Veith and Nick Wemes led the Rebels in scoring with 13 points each. Zack Goodwin had a solid all-around game, scoring seven points on four-of-eight shooting along with pulling down seven rebounds.
Backing up the road win, the Rebels returned home to knock off Evansville Day, 48-43.
Goodwin recorded a double-double, scoring 20 points and grabbing 10 boards. He also had four assists and four steals.
Coming off the bench, Nate Shaffer scored 12 points. Veith chipped in eight points and four rebounds, while Wemes had six points and four steals.
