Boys' basketball pairings drawn


Corydon-NH to meet in 1st round

Four hundred three teams were drawn Sunday afternoon and placed into brackets for the 104th annual Indiana High School Athletic Association Boys' Basketball Tournament presented by the Indiana Pacers and Indiana Fever.

Crawford County will compete in the six-team Class 2A Sectional 46 at Paoli, while North Harrison will host the Class 3A Sectional 30. North Harrison will face its county rival — No. 4 Corydon Central — in the opening round, while No. 8 Crawford County will face No. 2 Clarksville.

Defending Class A State Champion Borden will host Class A Sectional 62. South Central will open play against Rock Creek Academy with the winner getting the first shot at the defending champs. Lanesville, meanwhile, drew a bye and will wait for the winner between No. 6 Christian Academy of Indiana versus New Washington. Borden is currently ranked No. 9.

Three teams are ranked in the North Harrison Sectional: No. 4 Corydon Central, No. 8 Brownstown Central and No. 10 Madison. Silver Creek (14th) is receiving votes.

The sectionals will begin Tuesday with the championship games to be played on Saturday, March 8. The regional round will be on March 15 followed by the semi-state contests on March 22. The four state championship games will be played at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on March 29.

In all, there will be 399 games in 26 days.

Tickets cost $6 per session or $10 for all sessions.
