October 16, 2013 | 10:31 AM

With the postseason in sight, runners from North Harrison showed they are in form to make another deep run if results from the Mid-Southern Conference are any indication.

Competing at Eastern (Pekin), North Harrison took the top individual spots with Daniel Fleace winning the boys' race while Ashton Bosler ran away with the girls' event last Tuesday.

As a team, the Cougars' boys took first place by placing six runners inside the top 15. With the top five scoring, North Harrison tallied 33 points, well ahead of second-place finisher Brownstown Central (63). Corydon Central was sixth with 156 points.

Leading the way for North Harrison was Fleace. The junior ran the 5k in 16:23, finishing 20 seconds ahead of the second-place runner.

North Harrison teammates Curtiz Wetzel (16:58) and Michael White (17:10) placed third and fourth, respectively. Reaching the top 15 for North Harrison were Collier Smith (12th, 17:54), Chance Schickel (13th, 17:56) and Jacob Faith (14th, 18:00). Also for North Harrison, Andrew Robertson was 23rd.

In the boys' race, Jake Pitts was the top runner for Corydon Central, taking 11th place with a time of 17:51.

Other competitors for the Panthers were Dylan Bachman (30th, 19:02), Johnathan Leaf (32nd, 19:05), Jacob Smith (38th, 19:40), Jacob McClanahan (45th, 20:02), Johnathon Potochnic (51st, 20:46) and Noah Hamilton (58th, 22:08).

Bosler was the best in the girls' race, but the Lady Cats nearly pulled off the team double. North Harrison's girls finished with 54 points, just behind the top school of Silver Creek (39 points).

The lone runner to break the 20-minute mark, Bosler completed the course in 19:24 for the top spot.

North Harrison's next runner to cross was Karin Blos in seventh place with a time of 21:04. Cracking the 15 best female runners among the North Harrison contingent were Stevi Burns (11th, 22:02) and Shelby Lindsey (15th, 22:31).

Also running for the Lady Cats were Hayley Elliot (22nd, 23:36), Lexy Terrell (25th, 24:06) and Natalie Hollensead (29th, 24:43).

Leading the way for Corydon Central, a team that placed sixth with 165 points, was Brianna Norris. The senior ran in 23:11.

Other runners for the Lady Panthers were Melissa Mayfield (30th, 24:45), Kelcie Byrd (34th, 26:15), Dakota Walk (50th, 37:30) and Madeline Zink (52nd, 44:17).
