Boys', girls' soccer tourney fields set

A field of 299 boys' teams, a record for the 20th consecutive year, and 258 girls' teams are entered as pairings for the 20th annual IHSAA Soccer State Tournaments were announced Friday.

Boys' sectional action at 64 sites — 32 in each class — will be played beginning Monday through Saturday, Oct. 12.

The girls' sectionals — 32 in Class 2A and 16 in Class A — will also run Oct. 7 through 12.

Seedings for area teams are as follows:

Class A Providence Boys' Sectional

Game 1 — Providence vs. North Harrison, Monday, Oct. 7, 6 p.m.; Game 2 —Christian Academy of Indiana vs. Lanesville, Wednesday, Oct. 9, 5 p.m.; Game 3 — Rock Creek Academy vs. Providence/North Harrison winner, Wednesday, Oct. 9, 7 p.m.; Game 4 — Championship, Saturday, Oct. 12, 11 a.m.

Class 2A Floyd Central Boys' Sectional

Game 1 — Corydon Central vs. Jeffersonville, Wednesday, Oct. 9, 6 p.m.; Game 2 — New Albany vs. Floyd Central, Wednesday, Oct, 9, 5 p.m.; Game 3 — Silver Creek vs. Corydon Central/Jeffersonville winner, Wednesday, Oct, 9, 7 p.m.; Game 4 — Championship, Saturday, Oct. 12, 2 p.m.

Class A Forest Park Girls' Sectional

Game 1 — North Harrison vs. South Spencer, Monday, Oct. 7, 7 p.m.; Game 2 — Heritage Hills vs. Forest Park, Tuesday, Oct. 8, 6 p.m.; Game 3 — Christian Academy of Indiana vs. Salem, Tuesday, Oct. 8, 7:45 p.m.; Game 4 — Northeast Dubois vs. North Harrison/South Spencer winner, Thursday, Oct. 10, 6 p.m.; Game 5 — Heritage Hills/Forest Park winner vs. CAI/Salem winner, Thursday, Oct. 10, 7:45 p.m.; Game 6 — Championship, Saturday, Oct. 12, 11 a.m.

Class 2A Floyd Central Girls' Sectional

Game 1 — Corydon Central vs. Providence, Tuesday, Oct. 8, 5 p.m.; Game 2 — New Albany vs. Floyd Central, Tuesday, Oct. 8, 7 p.m.; Game 3 — Corydon Central/Providence winner vs. New Albany/Floyd Central winner, Thursday, Oct. 10, 6 p.m.; Game 4 — Jeffersonville vs. Silver Creek, Thursday, Oct. 10, 7 p.m.; Game 5 — Championship, Saturday, Oct. 12, 6 p.m.

Admission is $6 per session; $9 for all sessions.
