Corydon Central's Levi Taylor and North Harrison's Ashton Bosler raced their way to individual titles at the Mid-Southern Conference Meet last Tuesday, hosted by Silver Creek.

Bosler was much the best among the females. She was the lone runner to break 20 minutes, eventually crossing the finish line in 19:20. Bosler was followed by Salem's Sydney Calhoun, who ran in 20:02.

In the boys' race, the battle between Taylor and North Harrison's Jonathan Reynolds continues. This time around, Taylor beat out his counterpart by six seconds, running in 16:02.

Within the team standings, Reynolds and the Cougars came out on top by the slimmest of margins. North Harrison placed first with 44 points, followed by Silver Creek with 45. Corydon Central finished fourth with 115 points.

Reynolds' second-place effort in 16:08 was followed by teammate Daniel Fleace, who came in third with a time of 16:55.

The Cougar pack of Curtis Wetzel (18:00), Tyler Hood (18:01) and Andrew Robertson (18:03) took the 12th through 14th spots.

Corydon Central's Jake Pitt just missed the top 10, placing 11th in 17:56. Also competing for the Panthers were Johnathan Leaf (29th, 19:11), Jacob McClanahan (34th, 19:45) and Jacob Smith (40th, 20:12).

Bosler was the individual to catch in the girls' race, but the Lady Cats as a team couldn't reel in Silver Creek. The Lady Dragons won the conference team title with 46 points, followed by North Harrison's 55. Corydon Central finished fifth with 123 points.

North Harrison's Hayley Elliot landed a 10th-place finish in 22:26, while teammate Shelby Lindsey (22:57) finished 15th.

Also competing for the Lady Cats were Savannah Taylor (17th, 23:00), Kaela Wright (22nd, 23:16) and Natalie Hollensead (28th, 24:11).

Corydon Central was led by a strong effort from Kristin Proctor, who placed eighth in 22:01. Fellow Lady Panther Brianna Norris finished 18th with a time of 23:05.

Runners also competing for Corydon Central were McKendra Fisher (34th, 25:07), Maddie Zink (44th, 34:35) and Dakota Walker (45th, 35:12).

The girls' and boys' sectional races took place yesterday (Tuesday) with the top 15 individuals and top five teams advancing to regional. The Crawford County Regional will take place Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
