May 07, 2014 | 10:10 AM

The passenger in a single-vehicle crash on April 19 died Sunday from his injuries.

Doug Henderson, 28, of Jeffersonville was the passenger in a 2012 silver Volkswagen driven by Jesse Crawford, 28, of New Albany.

According to police, Crawford was driving east on Interstate 64 at a high rate of speed when the Volkswagen left the road and crashed into a rock embankment near the 121-mile marker.

Henderson, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken by Air Methods medical helicopter to University Hospital in Louisville, where he was described as in critical condition and in a coma.

Crawford was not seriously injured.

Both Henderson and Crawford are graduates of Corydon Central High School.
