The Rotary Club of Corydon is known for exemplifying the Rotary motto of "Service Before Self" and that was evident this past holiday season. Not only did the Rotary Club donate $511, raised from weekly Happy Dollar Announcements, to Harrison County Community Services for holiday food baskets, they also took time to volunteer to hand out the baskets.
"It is one thing to donate money to a worthy cause; it's another to witness first-hand how those donations really help people in our community," Brett Huett, president of the Rotary Club of Corydon, said. "It also reminds us to be thankful for our many blessings and for organizations like Community Services of Harrison County that work endlessly to assist those in need."

The Rotary Club of Corydon also gave a little boost to Harrison County school libraries this holiday season with donations of books made possible through a Rotary Club of Corydon grant that was matched with funds from the Usborne Book Co. The club and Usborne Book Co. donated a total of $3,900 in Usborne books to Harrison County's K-6 grade libraries.
"The book donation project was a fun way to help promote literacy and education here in Harrison County," Huett said.
