Legislative Update planned for Saturday

January 29, 2014 | 09:24 AM

State Sen. Richard D. Young Jr., D-Milltown, and State Rep. Rhonda Rhoads, R-Corydon, will discuss legislative issues with the public Saturday morning, from 8 to 10, in the Superior Courtroom of the Harrison County Justice Center in Corydon.

The update is co-sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce of Harrison County and the Harrison County Farm Bureau. It will begin with fruit, doughnuts and coffee from 8 to 8:30 with the program set to begin at 8:30.

Members of the audience will be able to ask questions of the appropriate legislator to start the update. At the close of the update, each legislator will have an opportunity to summarize the program.

"The public is cordially invited, and everyone will have the opportunity to talk with the legislators before and after the get-together," Peter J. Schickel, legislative coordinator, said.

I hope Rhonda has something better to focus on outside her obsession with whether a couple of women can marry each other. We need to be more concerned about jobs, taxes, education and transportation.

Now you know that social issues are WAY bigger then any fiscal issues...just look at the Federal Govt, why should the state be any different...oh that's right...IT IS DIFFERENT!

What are you worried about? I see nothing wrong with putting it on the ballot to vote on. Right now homosexuals cannot marry. I support amending the state constitution, but if you do not you can vote no. I believe Rhonda is doing a great job.
