A Corydon woman was killed and her grandchild suffered serious injuries yesterday morning (Tuesday) in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of S.R. 135 and Fairview Church Road south of Corydon.
According to the Indiana State Police's preliminary investigation, Paul F. Roberts, 21, Corydon, was driving a 1998 Dodge pick-up truck north on S.R. 135 at about 7:30 a.m.

As Roberts approached from the south, witnesses said that, for an unknown reason, Denise L. Meitzler, 53, who was driving a 2008 Jeep east from Fairview Church Road toward Old S.R. 135, ran a stop sign and crossed in the path of Roberts' truck.
The t-bone collision that impacted the passenger side of the Jeep sent the Jeep rolling into a grassy area on the northeast corner of the intersection and spun the truck around to face southbound.
Emergency responders say Meitzler's 6-year-old grandson had to be extricated from the vehicle and possibly had leg injuries.
All three people were transported by ambulance to Harrison County Hospital, where Meitzler was pronounced dead. The grandson was transferred from HCH by air ambulance to Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville. A family member said Roberts was diagnosed with a concussion and received three staples to his head before being released from HCH yesterday morning.
Police said all occupants were wearing their seat belt.
Volunteer fire departments from Harrison and Heth townships responded to the scene.
